Ernst:

The Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Environment Canada, National Research Council and a few Canadian universities have been working on carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide emissions.

Agricultural production has been and still is the focus of numerous studies. I have had discussions with scientists from Research Branch and they believe their research program is quite advanced compared to many other western countries. Some of the mod
els (Im not aware of any SD models) that are being used are CRAM (large LP model of the Canadian ag . sector), EPIC and CENTURY.

Here are some contacts that may be useful:

Ray Desjardins - CO2 work and crop weather modelling, Research Branch, Dept. of Ag. and Agri-Food

Robert Zentner - energy use in ag., Research Branch, Dept. of Ag. and Agri-Food
e-mail: zentnerr@em.agr.ca

Terry McRae - agri-enviornmental indicators, Environment Bureau, Policy Branch, Dept. of Ag. and Agri-Food
e-mail: mcraeta@em.agr.ca

I hope this helps.

Simulation of Carbon flux for Austria

Who can help us?

We wish to make a carbon flux model for Austria!
Thats why we are looking to find experiences in modelling the carbon
flux especially for agriculture, within a country.
We probably will use simulation software like Vensim, Powersim Stella
etc., but until know we dont know which tool fits best for this
purpose?

So, if anybody knows something about such simulations or the "best"
simulation tool to do this, please send a short mail.

Thanks for answer Ernst
