Web improved Beer Game

This message is a reminder about the first web-based Beer game. It was
developed by Jose A.D. Machuca and R. del Pozo, at the University of
Sevilla (Spain) three years ago and it is available in spanish and in
english. Some of its features were published by the System Dynamics Review
(Vol. 13, 4, 1997), as for example:

* Choice of the type of demand (one of the possibilities is for the
facilitator to establish it freely).

* Choice of lead times/EDI simulation.

* Information sharing (when the facilitator allows it).

* On-line communication players-facilitator before, after and during the gam=
e.

Some advantage of the web-based game also appeared in the mentioned
article.

This game have been succesfully used in our University
(undergraduate and graduate levels) since 1996 . It has also been
successfully used a number of times with players located in different
european countries.

Dear Jose,

I would be very interested to get some information on the web version of
the beer game you have developed. I would be very interested to hear the
kind of things (teaching, research) you engage in. Here at CUBS, we
teach SD to both undergraduates and graduates. We use SD and other
simulation technqiues (cellular automata, agent based simulation) to
address business issues.
