Hi I am trying to define the following variable:

X * (27 - Time) but I get the error msg that the input is unexpected.

where is the function to call for current time?

For those who have used ithink, it is the TIME builtin in ithink.

If this is a really fundamental question, I apologize but today is the first day I am using vensim

You usually get an "unexpected" message when you have typed into an equation a variable name which is not connected to the equation in the diagram. All you would need to do is answer yes to the question about updating links, and it will work.

Time is indeed the system name for current time.

Appreciate the help, Lee.

But I don't see the question about updating links.

A msgbox just pops up with "Stop from Vensim: The following inputs were not expected (but are used): Time". It goes back to the equation dialog box after I click ok.

Should I be drawing an arrow from somewhere to that auxilary variable? But I have no idea where to draw that from. I am using the PLE by the way.
