ANNOUNCE New Submission Guidelines for System Dynamics Revie

Post by Brian Dangerfield B.C.Dangerfiel »

Dear All:

I would strongly second Warren Tignor's praise for the standards of
refereeing for the ISDC. In general this is also the case in respect
of the System Dynamics Review. I had already drafted an editorial,
to appear in the next issue, which celebrates the standard of
refereeing for our journal.

Whilst submitting this item can I take the opportunity to make
some announcements.

Until the 'Guidelines for Authors' are amended will prospective
authors now note that they should submit papers to me
electronically using, preferably, either .pdf or .doc files.

Figures should be either embedded in the text or in a separate file
(one file only please) with each figure on a new page within that file.
Other formats are allowable here, such as .ppt. Where figures are
in colour that may be nice for reviewers but won't help if the paper
is accepted since very few scientific journals publish colour figures.
Prospective authors need to arrange for suitable black & white
copy.

Where the paper reports on a model this should also be submitted
electronically, unless there are sound reasons of confidentiality
precluding its inclusion. So at most I should receive three separate
files for each submission.

If the paper is accepted I will then need (i) a short biography for
each author and (ii) a completed Copyright Transfer Agreement
(CTA) as otherwise Wiley will refuse to publish the paper. Blank
CTA forms are in each issue of SDR and can be photocopied.

With very best wishes for 2005 to all authors and readers of the
System Dynamics Review.

Brian.
