Hi Everybody,

Can anyone suggest or share various factors invovled in software
maintenance process and any mathematical relatonships between
these factors to develop a SD Model. I am focussing only on the
factors that come into picture when the software goes into the
maintenance phase.

If anyone knows any paper, book, or internet source that can
help me with this topic, I would really appreciate it.

AThanks a lot in anticipation of your help,

Regards,

A starting point is:

http://sunset.usc.edu/research/COCOMOII ... _main.html

A research associate of the Center, Dr. Raymond Madachy, has been
applying SD to software engineering for years.

I'm not sure how much (of COCOMO or Madachy's work) is applicable
to the maintenance phase.

There's an explicit SD model of software maintenance built and discussed
by a true guru of modern software engineering, Ed Yourdon, in Chapter 4
of his Rise and Resurrection of the American Programmer (Prentice-Hall, 1996).

cheers,
