Hey everybody,
I have a small problem, i am working with a VenApp platform right now and the users of this VenApp tend to use the provided slidebars not by sliding but by entering values, now VenApp seems to ignore this way of putting values unless the slider is being clicked on. Is there some way i can force the values in the boxes to be read in?

This does not seem to be a problem for me. Check the finance.vcd Venapp that comes with Vensim and see if you have this problem - as always make sure you are using the latest version (5.5a).

Dear Bob,
The problem is/ was that i am running SyntheSim mode, i checked the finance file, there it works out fine as u said, so I#ll probably just switch to normal simulation or do u see any option to achieve the same for SyntheSim? And we are running 5.5 meanwhile;)

Hi Tobi,

You should switch to 5.5a right away - there are known problems with 5.5 that make this a really good idea.

the intro.vcd file that come with Vensim uses slidevars in synthesim (see how SyntheSim works) and these resimulate as numbers are typed in. You may have set SyntheSim not to activate on any change - this would explain your results. The problem is that typeing in 3.14159 will cause 8 simulations and if the model is sluggish this may not look good - you could just add a Go button for this case.
