Hi!
I imported the Dataset ELECTRIC.DAT from the CHAP 18(Electric.mdl) to the Excell program and save that as ELECTRIC.XLS.
I did not succeed to import ELECTRIC.XLS dataset to Vensim. Most of the Table/Spreadsheet Error Messages seems to be regarding to the data type that best describes the imported .dat data.
I tried different formation but the error messages came out as below:
Error: Unable to find the time row.
Error: Unable to understand percent of us dwellings with electric power @(1,2) as a time
By the other side, I tried to go the the exemple SALES.MDL that seems to be the proper exercice to get the knowlodge how to import data. I tried to import SALES.XLS but the error messages remain:
For Sales Data(Row):
ERROR: Unable to understand sales @(1,2) as a time.
My questions are:
How could I delimited the data in a excell spreadsheet in order to enable the .xls file be imported and accepted by Vensim?
1) Characters such as commas or tabs separate each field? If so what of them?
2) Fields are alinged in columns with spaces beteeen each field?
Thanks
Claudio
