when should i use time step and time

i have a problem,

how do i know that i need to use the time step or time variable in my model

sometime when i have the units proble, i will add the time step in my model, then , my model checking is becoming ok.

i don't know is it right to do this

but , i didn't do it, my units will be wrong..

hope someone can help me

Study the user guide and in very model explaned, check the units for every equations and try to understand them.

Look at the world model 2003, that is with the model samples.
The time is very much used, and instead of using the time step, they use the variable one year that is equal to the time step. They could have used time stem instead of one year.
I think that it is for a reason of lisibility. Studying these equations may help you.
