Hi

I have a problem importing data from excel.

The data are only available at distinct time points

I did try to use the :hold backward: and :look forward" data
functions , but obtained the same results with and without
these functions...

I would to hold bakward data values ...

I send to you a short vensim program (test.mdl and the excel file (test.xls)

can you tell me what is wrong ?

The vensim file was attached in my last message... sorry

It is all working exactly as you expect. The problem is that when graphing, Vensim only plots the points it has joined with straight lines, which are the data points from Excel.

If you look at the attached model, you will see I have introduced three aux variables, these show how the data points are actually used in Vensim.
