ANNOUNCE Systems effects in genetics article

The New York Times had an accessible article this morning on a very large study that confirmed the incredibly inconvenient concept that genes don't act alone with single functions, but act in systems. (my terms).

I have some references and commentary on this on my weblog. You might disagree with the commentary, but the source article is worth reading for Systems Dynamics marketing reasons.

ANNOUNCE Systems effects in genetics article

It would seem surprising that geneticists would be surprised... that genes act in ""systems"". A gene acts under a set of circumstances and those circumstances (certainly within a cell or an organism) are caused by other genes and the environment... which may also affected by genes. This is clear in many of the writings of evolutionary biologists (e.g. Richard
Dawkins). Maybe reality is catching up with the scientific press?
