Correct scaling - technical question

Hello everybody,

as I am sharing models with a friend who is working on a slightly different work environment (larger screen!) it always happens that his models don't fit on my screen. They are either way out in one corner (covering space outside the screen) or the letters are too small to read at all.

What could be the reason of that and how to overcome this difficulty that hinders a flawless exchanging of models and model alterations?

Thanks a lot and best regards

Ralf

First make sure you are using the latest release (5.7) this works somewhat better now than it used to. The problem is not screen size, but logical pixels per inch, which determines how a 10 point font relates to a 30 pix wide box. When you open the model you will be asked if you want to rescale the sketches to accommodate the differences. Usually answering yes will give reasonably good results, but trading back and forth some roundoff may creep in. An alternative is to have them be good on the lower resolution screen, and have oversized boxes on the higher resolution screen - answer no to changing scaling on both sides. This should keep things stable and looking right on your screen and somewhat sparse on your colleagues (the other way around is not good since this will get squished on your screen).

Hi Bob,

thanks for your quick answer on my question:-)

As I use a Mac the newest version is 5.5 and I am positive that my friend uses the newest version.

So I will recheck as soon as possible.

Cheers,

Ralf
