Hi,

another question concerning optimization. I read in the vensim manual about the weights in the payoff definition.
And it's kind of hard to understand which scale they should take. Is there kind of a general rule, or something?

I have not heard of a definite way to weight the payoffs.
Defining the payoffs and how they will be weighted is a
political decision that must be settled before and independantly of the result of the optimisation.
The best book I know about how to define payoffs and how to weight them is Geoff Coyle 'System dynamics modelling a practical approach' where a large part of the book deals with
policy optimization methods.
