Spatial System Dynamics

Hi everybody,

I'm new in this forum so I'd better present myself first. My name is Christian Vincenot and I'm research student at the Biosphere Informatics Laboratory, Dept. of Social Informatics, Kyoto University. I will enter doctoral course next October.

I'm looking for any kind of documentation relative to spatial system dynamics. I'm especially interested in habitat fragmentation problems, but any paper/model dealing with spatial system dynamics would be useful to me.

May I ask if you could direct me to some papers about spatial system dynamics?

Hi

I have googled the name Spatial system dynamics and there is an interesting article in pdf format but you must probably alrady have found it.
You can too make a search on the Vensim forum for spatial system dynamics and you will find
a thread from 2006 about spatial system dynamics, some links and people interested that you can contact personnaly.

I guess I see what pdf you're talking about. Is it a paper from BenDor and Metcalf?

I have already searched using the website search engine but I must have missed the thread you're talking about. I'll check again.

Check out the model archive at www.simulistics.com, though it is a different software (simili), they have lots of models with spatial dynamics.

Hi Karan,

Thanks for the link. In fact, since my post in April, I've contacted some people who took part in the Simile project and we're planning at the moment the development of a spatially-explicit SD environment using Simile. I'll keep you updated once we've got something working.
