Input Sliders not recognizing range values

Post by cjansen »

Was wondering if someone could explain to me what I'm doing wrong.

No matter what I try the range of the input slider control always defaults to 0 - 100 step of 1 whenever I run a synth sim. Even the example models that come with the program revert to this despite what has been inputted into the slider settings area.

For example, take WOM2.MDL. The moment I run a Synth Sim the range on the c advertising spending slider gets set to 0 to 100 despite the fact the initial value is 20mil and the range inputted on the slider settings is 0 to 2e+008 . Now as long as I don't touch the slider the value remains unchanged but as soon as I move the slider I am now restricted to 0 through 100 for the rest of the sim.

Is there some switch or trick I'm missing in order to get the Input Slider to behave differently and to use the ranges specified either on the variable itself or what's entered into the slider setting?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

It may be that the update fixes the problem (I had someone email me last week with something similar). Can you try it?

It will only allow me to download version 5.6b. All newer versions require me to purchase a maintenance extension option.

So I would assume that means I need to purchase a maintenance extension in order to get the update. Correct?

That is correct - if you are using double precision switching to single might also fix the problem.
