Best example of the need for spatially-explicit SD

Hi everybody,

The question lies in the title. I will have to do a presentation soon explaining why Spatial System Dynamics is useful (in comparison with "standard" SD) and I'm looking for examples which could illustrate well the limitations of SD when dealing with spatial problems. Since the audience will be made of ecologists who are used to workaround the spatial limitations of SD (with more or less success), some striking examples would be useful to make them think about the value of this approach. Any suggestions would be welcome :)

Best regards,
Chris.

Hey, i only joined the discussion forum today, and i am finding interesting topics. I have been interested in spatial system dynamics as well and i cannot find much articles on the topic. I tried to google simile website and downloaded the evaluation software but i could not be able to install it since there were some problems i incured. I contacted them and no reply yet. Which software are you using? I am really keen in understanding this topic
