Extraneous Colons in Venapp

Has anyone seen this problem?
I have a venapp interface built that includes the display of the numeric values of several variables at the final timestep. In most cases there's no problem, but every so often, Venapp seems to append a colon to the end of the number. It almost looks like there's a question of rounding/display going on. If there are 5 digits in all the other numbers, but only four digits in one of them, the fifth spot is filled up with a colon. Is that how Venapp handles filling extra spaces? If so, is there a command in the definition of the display box where I can specify the number of digits to use?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated...
