Setting constants to calibration results

Post by tomauro »

I know there's a way to do it, but I've forgotten. I've calibrated a model and Vensim kicked out a *_endpoint.tab file containing two outcomes, which yielded about the same payoff.

I'd like to load either as different cases (or whichever one is contained in the .vdf file asssociated with the run), by setting all the constants in the model to the values contained in the .tab or .vdf file at the end of that run.

This would be the automated way of looking at the .log file and manually entering the values...however, for some reason...the .log file does not contain the "final simulation" with the setting for the constants. Besides, I've got something like 90 constants and it would be a little awkward. I'm attaching the three files (.tab, .vdf, .log).

Thanks to anyone who can help!!

There should also be a .OUT file. Try using that as a CIN file.

Yes, I see an out file (that only contains the better of the two results in the *endpoint.tab). So, I rename that to *.cin...and then what?

Thanks again in advance for your help!

No need to rename it, you can simply select an OUT file in the same way as you select a CIN file, Vensim will read the optimised values as data input
