system dynamics

Post by nadia »

Hi everybody,

It is just a simple question.System dynamics itself has s.I mean the term dynamics. What about system dynamic model? Does it has s or without s?Thank you in advance.

Nadia.

I'd say "System Dynamics model".

Right. Some people say, "systems dynamics" but as Jay Forrester introduced the term in Industrial Dynamics, it was "system dynamics" (from which the title of the SD Review journal derives). - Tom

Dear Nadia,

Based on my recent research I suppose that it is "SystemS Dynamics". Because of two things: First, most of the Mechanical Engineers use this term [without S] for the mechanical systems and the second is, due to complexity of systems together they prefer to use it as a plural form [with S].
Actually, Systems dynamics deals with the non-linear equations because of its complexity and mixture of loops together. However, some of experts still use it System Dynamics. Personally, I prefer to say "Systems Dynamics"!

I hope that my description help you to identify the subject more.

Kian
