Suggestions for support of multiple Vensim versions?

Hello.
I teach with PLE, but I develop in DSS, both on Win7 64. Sometimes I bump into problems that I suspect may be due to having parallel versions. Is there a recommended way of installing the two products so that switching is easy?
Thanks.
Eliot

All you can really do is make sure you don't use anything that is not available in PLE. Subscripts are the main thing, avoid them and most models will open in PLE.

In terms of installation, they should coexist just fine. What problems do you see?

Hello.
More background - The two products are installed them in seperate subdirectories under Program Files (x86); I'm on a 64 bit Win 7 machine.
Most recently I have had some trouble when executing senstivity simulations, where the program crashes (Program stopped working) without an error message. Obviously this is only when using DSS.
I have also had a small issue with opening MDL files in explorer, where the context menu lists "vensim family of products" without distinguishing between PLE and DSS.
Any thoughts?

Can you send us something that reproduces the crash? There is nothing we can do unless the error can be replicated.

In Windows, you can only associate a file type with a single executable. So there is no way of distinguishing between PLE/DSS from explorer.
What you could do is customize the "Send to" menu so that you could right click on a model and send to DSS or PLE.
