Good day,
Are there any published journal articles that document the use of system dynamics in modeling qualitative variables? More specifically I'm looking for articles that have modeled for business processes and have incorporated the impact of qualitative variables (such as health, morale, stress, etc) on productivity using a system dynamics approach, or at the very least an operational research technique.

Re: Modeling Qualitative Variables using System Dynamics
Hi
There are many articles in the SD litterature about soft qualitative variables. There is a bibliography on the SD society web site:
systemdynamics.org
You can too consult the many models in the vensim documentation or in the papers from the SD conference avaible at the SD society web site and see how soft variables are used. Most models use more or less qualitative variables.
You can too just google 'qualitative variables' or 'qualitative variables with system dynamics'.
If you are member of the SD society you can browse its review.
Joined and interesting paper from Coyle about qualitative and quantitative modeling.
Regards.
JJ
