VDF2TAB and Time (in Command File)

Hi,

I'm experiencing a strange behaviour in the tab file created with the command VDF2TAB in a Command Script.
No particular option is given to the command, which has the form: MENU>VDF2TAB|vdffile|tabfile|savelist|

The strange behaviour is about the Time header.
The model runs from 1995 to 2030, but some variables are ouput in the tab file in the interval 1965.75 - 2074
Of course no value is provided for the years outside the interval 1995 - 2030, but, from aesthetic point of view, the result is not so "attractive".
Furthermore, even if the SAVEPER option is set to 5, the Time headers include every year and some (just some!) quarters of year.

I managed to avoid the visualization problem by adding the frequency, start and end option for VDF2TAB, but I'm curius to know the origin of these other years.

Thank you in advance.

Can you upload the VDF and the exact command you are using?

Are there data variables in the model? Data often has its own time axis.

The exported variables include data variables, but these, as all inputs and ouputs refer to the interval 1995-2050.
The funny thing is that nowehere it is set the wider interval 1965-2074. I wonder if they are default dates.

Strange. I think we'd need the .vdf and exact command to diagnose. You can post it, or email if sensitive.

HI,

I've prepared the vdf file, where can I send it to by email?

How large is the VDF?

Email is not an option then, it's far too large.

Can you upload it somewhere so we can download it?

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6hO-H ... sp=sharing

the zip folder contains 4 files:
- Scenario_1.vdf
- VDF2TAB.cmd , the command used to generate:
- Scenario_1.tab , which present the unexpected Time headers
- VDF2TAB_with_start_end.cmd , the command used eventually to avoid the strange Time headers

Do you have the save list as well? The tab file it creates is 1.4gb in size.

Thanks. Unfortunately I'll need the model and associated datafiles to investigate any further.

Vensim is detecting 219 time points for some data parameters (possibly "TRA pass urban road charge[BE1]"). I'd need to check the data files to be sure.

Typically all the data has one long, common time vector, so if there's a long and/or irregular series, that will cause all the data to be reported differently from the model variables.

Thank you both, I will check the "TRA pass urban road charge[BE1]" serie.
