Managing optimization

Hello

I am currently optimizing (i.e. matching simulated variables to the data) different models at the same time - they are actually different sectors of the same model. As I am switching between the models, I was wondering:

whether it is possible to 'save' an optimization task in vensim? I.e. is it possible to somehow import the saved optimization setting so that I can use it again without determining all parameters and variables that need to be matched or optimized?

I have a strong impression that this should be possible, unfortunately I am not sure how exactly I can do it.

Thanks
Sarah

Good question, and yes, it's possible.

The result of an optimization is stored in a runname.out file (this is text, so you can look at it in the editor).

You can load a .out file the same way you would a changes file (.cin). So, run your optimization in model A, then load optA.out as a change file in model B, and your next model B run will be based on the A results.
