dat to vdfx conversion manual pages
dat to vdfx conversion manual pages
In some recent version change, the method for dat to vdf changed. There is no longer a DAT2VDF item in the file menu of the text editor, instead it is in the Model menu rather cryptically called "from dat format..." - it kind of makes sense since it is right below the item "Import dataset...", making it seem like a sub-option of importing data. But the help files still refer to the text editor method and a command line option. I loose a half hour every time trying to remember where it was moved to and the help does not help.
Re: dat to vdfx conversion manual pages
It's actually been there in the Model menu for ages, but it sounds like we lost the other option in the File menu with the switch to the alt text editor. The command script DAT2VDF option still exists too. I'll put in a ticket for a documentation update and restoration of the menu item. Thanks.

Re: dat to vdfx conversion manual pages
The latest release of Vensim adds a button to the toolbar to import DAT files.
