Where did the rate ‘valve’ go?

Hello,
We are trialing Venism and the version that we are testing doesn’t have the rate ‘valves’, it just connects the two stocks/boxes with arrows. The support material shows valves in all of the supporting pictures. Is this an update to the software or are we doing something wrong?
