cannot access samle models from user manual

I'm sure there is a simple solution, but I cannot seem to access the sample models in the user manual. When I try to do that I get an error message that says "some content of this document has been blocked for your safety." If I click Yes. Nothing happens. I suspect this has nothing to do with Vensim... any suggestions? I get this even when I run Vensim as Administrator.

Are you trying to download the models from the online documentation? If yes, what browser are you using?

Or are you using local help?

What version of Vensim are you using?

When I click on help it opens a window that says "vensim help" in the upper left corner. I am assuming that is on my computer. Shows as a window via the Vensim icon on the taskbar.


Does not open a browser. (my default is firefox)

It looks like the help system is preventing access to the model. You can still find it on your machine depending on what operating system you are using.

I am using a Dell XPS 17 Laptop running Windows 11 Vensim DSS 9.3.5 x64

I have been using Vensim for about two years. This has always been the case for me as well. I usually access the model examples from the website. As stated, you can also dig them out of the directory. It would be nice if the help model links worked, however. Windows 11, every version for the last two years.

I think this is a permissions problem that we were unaware of. There is little we can really do though, browsers (which includes the help system) prevent access to the hard drive.

Maybe the solution is to just use online help. I'll create a ticket in our system to look into it in detail.

Apart from the web help. you can also access the files directly in the c:\users\public\vensim directory.
