I have a flow variable calculated daily that goes into a level. This level collects the yearly total and I want a way to reset it after each year.
I have asked this previously and the suggestion was that the outflow out of the level be = level/Time step
I would like to know the simple logic behind it, and how will that change if say time units was years with a day time step and if the time unit was a day with a day time step?
I don't suppose I can do something like level/5*Time step
reset a time level after several time steps

Re: reset a time level after several time steps
level/Time step is the maximum rate at which you would remove things from a stock without it going negative. It does not matter what time units the model has (as long as it passes the units test).
