I am building a systems model concerning international trade in maize,
and am looking for examples of work in this area. Can anyone point me
in the right direction?
Thanks,

international trade models
Jeff,
There are at least three big institutions working on models of food
production, demand and supply and trade issues:
International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Washington DC
World Bank, Washington D.C.
FAO, Rome
Im also sure a few agr.econ. departments in the US must be done some work
in this field, although most likely using other models than systems
analysis.

Jeff,
It would help us a lot if you could be a bit more specific about your SD
focus on international trade in maize. You might want to give us a key
reference mode: Is your issue, for example, that trade has been
declining (or growing or stagnating)? Is it that prices have been
rising (or falling or oscillating)? Is it that the portion of final
revenues that "go to farmers" has been stagnating at a low level (or a
high level)?
