connectors to vars scrolled to not possible

When models get large and esp. when working on a small screen (e.g. laptop), I noticed that it's not possible to draw a connector by clicking one variable than scrolling until a second variable becomes visible and then clicking that one. Instead I need to zoom out until both variables are visible and then connect them. The problem is that at that zoom level the variables are no longer readable on a low-res screen.
You can simulate this problem even on better screens if you zoom in a lot, so that your target variable is outside of the visible part of the model.
It would be very handy if this could be fixed, i.e. drawing a connector with scrolling was made possible.
Of course I know that it is usually advisable to work with several views, but in our currrent project I unfortunately also need one view that contains it all.

Here's a possible workaround:

Edit the equation for the destination variable. Add the source variable to the expression. When you exit, accept the request to add the source connection to the diagram. At this point, you'll have a straight arrow from source->destination. Navigate to the midpoint and curve the arrow as needed (this may still be tricky).

Another possibility: you can use the Comment tool to place additional nodes on the diagram, and use those as waypoints.

Third option: get a 43" 4k monitor (the Dell Ultrasharp is excellent, but there are several others).

Option 1: is not possible in PLE+, is it?
Option 2: is interesting, but would that render the loop tool and causal chain tool useless?
Option 3: I have 4K at home and it does help, but can only dream of it at work...

Option 1 : No, it's not possible in PLE+ either. Only things that actually appear are drawn (for performance reasons), if something is off sketch, effectively it's not there, which is why the tool doesn't work. This will be fixed in the next release.
