hi folks,

I am currently working as a consulant for a local small rural Hospital =
in Australia who would like to implement a comprehensive discharge =
planning program to reduce costs
I would like to have a model to help the director convince the board =
that investing in this program & full time staff to go with it, will =
save them lots of money.
attached is an attempt - [vensim] any more ideas ?

thank you

[Hosts note: I have put the model in the location
http://www.vensim.com/sdmail/models/sd2163.mdl
Because of size limitations it is not practical to repost all models (though
this one would have worked). I would appreciate any feedback on the best way
to handle this. The choices are: 1. Email the person who wrote the message directly
to get a copy of the model, 2. Post anything smaller than 10K, 3. put attachements
up into archives. ]

RE: Carmen Husts inquiry about hospital models

Carmen,
You might check out a model HPS developed that looks at patient flow from
Emergency Care to Critcal Care and out. A version is available with the
ithink demo availble on the HPS website (www.hps-inc.com). Its also written
up in detail in the Business Applications Guide that comes with the
software.
