The faculty of technology management and economics at Chalmers
University (Sweden) is under reorganizing phase now. Several changes are
already implemented. New name will be " The Chalmers School of
Management". The faculty consists of 11 departments that run research
and education at different levels. There is lot of discussion about the
need of professors for Ph D students, need of Ph D students to sustain
research, "need (limit) of under graduate & graduate students", need of
other resources etc. etc.
I am interested in modeling the dynamics at the faculty with the
intention to find out our resource constraints. I heard that there are
some SD models already tested for this purpose. Is there anyone who can
help me and/or give me references to such works? Thanks.

May be you should contact with people in system dynamics group in Bogazici
University, they have developed a simulation game for university management
which later became a part of a larger project on educational issues.
I enclose some e-mail adresses for you.

Jamal,
Some time ago, I learned this interesting knowledge transfer:
The structure of the hog commodity cycles SD model (by D. Meadows)
could also explain the production of professionals inside an academic
environment (though the analogy may sound funny
)
Be well...
