Yes you are right, Bob.
There have been times in which x_bar was zero.
This caused the problem.

Thank you for that.

Issue fixed :)

Have a nice weekend over there!

Hello! x_bar = 275 + step(80,100) Stdev = 275 Could it be, that the random function gets values (e.g. -10 or 1000), which are out of the bounds of the lower and upper limits? This sounds logical for me. Then the solution yould be to either decrease/increase the bounds or adjust the standard deviatio...

After update to 5.10 c error msg for random function

Hi there, for now I stopped researching about subscripts and devoted the basic modeling of my model. FOr this purpose I advised out IT team to update my Vensim Version to the newest one, but now I am recieving error messages from one random function, maybe one of you knows the reason: "Range or...

Sorry!

I misunderstood the meaning of this setting.

I thought this will be the setting for the standard alignment inside the e.g. stock variable boxes.

Now I got it, it isn't a grid but when dragging the variables the difference can clearly be seen.

Thank you!

Now that I have access to Vensim Professional, is it possible to switch on a grid, such that the whole workscreen is full of dots, like squared or graph paper?

So that all boxed have the same size and same horizontal and vertical positioning.

Yes you are right. Let me try to describe it: Lets say we are having one machine. This machine produces identical materials but for two (actually it can be more) different customers. When I fill my process I will just sum the actual orders of both customers and put them batched together into the pro...

OK, I did a mistake above: The mentioned average attribute output I will get using the calculation above will be of the time "t", so of the last time step and not of the actual time step. So this approach cannot be used. I also did some investigation on your model, JJ, thanks for that. But...

When I delay this attributes/attribute-flows like the process will delay the material exiting the queue the output will not correspond with wha...

Yes you are right, I could model it with a coflow. But the problem is the queue. I mean when using a delay with no capacity contraint there is no problem at all. But how do I model a queue with a coflow? This coflow also should have something like a FIFO QUEUE, but I dont think this is possible, isn...

Queue Attributes

Hi there, I got a question: Is it possible to access to the attributes of the current outflow of a queue? Lets say I am modeling an waiting serving process in a bank. The queue consists of people waiting to be served and the attribute is the peoples height. I know the average height of the arriving ...

Set hide level of "batch" of elements

Hi there,

I got a quick question:
Is it possible to set the hide level of more than one objects at one time?

E.g. mark a few objects by dragging and set their hide level at the same time?
That would be much more comfortable than doing it one by one.

Regards
Mattes

I understand. Thanbk you for this hint. I am not very familiar with subscripts yet and I don't know whether this might be too detailed, but just to sum up: Lets say TIME STEP = 1 Inflow (Time = 1) = 10 Items Inflow (Time = 2) = 6 Items Then it is not possible, using "Delay Conveyor" or &qu...

I found the problem:

Have a look at "to actual WIP". There is the flow "finishing" taken into account. And I have taken this flow as a stock, this was the problem. Its fixed now (just use instead of "finishing" "finishing*TIME STEP".

Sorry for this topic.

Question about model with Queue, Delay and capacity contrain

Dear all, I got another question about a model which gives me weired results. See the model attached. Actually I am doing some research about this queueing problem, discussed earlier. I thought I should be able to combine the queue with a delay fixed or delay3. By this it should be possible to model...

After some testing I think I will combine a queue with a normal delay with varying delay times, this makes in my case most sense and gives the best results. I tested the material delay, but I am not happy with it because it is a bit complicated to model the following problem: lets say in my process ...

Modeling a process which can produce 2 different items with

Hello @ all. I got a question about modeling a process, which is able to produce 2 items. I want to model the production either just with a delay or...

Yes this might be the reason for this effect. But we are talking about a very big little bit earlier hehe, I mean in the end the total finished items is about 25% higher than it should be. And as stated in the help for the "Delay Conveyor" it should behave as a "delay fixed" for ...
