Re: Help: Exporting XLSX from VDFX via CMD script
Right now the test is simply the single line script that was suggested. 1. VensimDSS is closed. 2. In Terminal, I call the CMD script using the Vensim app, calling it with: /Applications/VensimDSS.app/Contents/MacOS/VensimDSS "/full/path/in/quotes/script.cmd" 3. Vensim opens and I get the...

Re: Help: Exporting XLSX from VDFX via CMD script
How are you using this (step by step please)?
Do you have a model open, then open the CMD script? Or some other way?

Re: Help: Exporting XLSX from VDFX via CMD script
Try running "MENU>VDF2XLSX|BAU.vdfx|BAU.xlsx|SaveList.lst|{||||" by itself and see if any error messages appear.

Re: Automated multiple simulations in PLE+?
Can you provide more details on exactly you want to do?
If you have PLE+, you can run monte-carlo/sensitivity simulations. This will automatically simulate many times and can sample from various distributions.

Re: Inactive subscripts
Hello, In my model in Vensim I have one subscript StoreID with three different stores as elements. I want to compare what would happen with the stocks and flows in the model if one of these stores is closed. My plan of action would be to remove one of the elements from the active list, so that it w...

Jay Forrester must be turning in his grave at the thought of what is being perpetrated to the System Dynamics. Some of the staff at Ventana were close friends with Jay and worked alongside him right up until he passed away. They are still close to his family. Statements like this can easily be cons...

Re: System Dynamics definition
We didn't redefine anything. I don't think I've ever heard anyone referring to a "level and rate diagram". A stock is the same ss a level, and a flow is the same as a rate. Sometimes the term "level" makes more sense than "stock" (eg, water in a reservoir), but they are...

Re: Automated multiple simulations in PLE+?
Do you mean monte-carlo simulation? That's in PLE+.
If you want to automate a certain number of runs, you would need DSS.

Re: Vensim macOS New Model/Window [Bug?]
11. ‘Suppress simulation information window’ does not suppress the information window then the model is reading a CIN file or other inputs to constants (like .out files). In the settings, there is even an option to suppress errors, so it would be beneficial to make this optional too. We'll check. 1...

8. I’d appreciate if you could make the ‘dark mode sketch’ to be enabled automatically but include an option like Microsoft Office apps to customize that behavior We've talked internally about this and decided on the current functionality. We spoke with some teachers that need to review models from...

Re: Vensim macOS New Model/Window [Bug?]
1. I have a 14-inch MacBook and I think this window was designed on a larger display because every time I have to resize it to get to the ‘Simulate’ button. The window size is restarted every time I close it. We'll make some tweaks to this for the next release. 2. The tools in the analysis toolset ...

Re: Sensitivity2All
What does S2A mean?
If you have a FP error on a specific run, right click on the bar in the Sens2All output and you can run that particular combination of constants to see where the FP error is generated.

Re: Persian language not displaying in VENSIM Windows version
Are you using a font that supports the language? Vensim comes with a range of fonts (all called "Vensim...", most languages are covered.
Also, if using Windows, try View->Compatible graphics.
Finally, if you can upload a model, I can test here. I don't have any models in Persian.

Re: Vensim for ipad
Now that Vensim is available on Apple Silicon, I think it should be able to run on iPad Pros with the same chip (identical architecture). We get maybe 1 request a year for Vensim on iPad (and that is for Vensim PLE). We cannot really justify the development resources to do this for a tiny number of...

Re: Death by Subscript
The SUM function is used over a subscript range, and you can think of subscripts as an array. Looking at the equation you are trying to implement, there is a sum over "n". So you would define the subscript range as n : (n1-n2). But I cannot see "n" in the equation you've entered ...

Re: Vensim-Integration-with-External-Applications
- How I can achieve this objective to supply this data ( Rates R1, R2, R3 and R4) to Vensim Model dynamically (as they are changing every hour) to generate simulations? You would need Vensim PLE+, Pro or DSS to link to external data. One way you can do it in PLE is to use a lookup table. - Is there...

What version of Vensim are you using and on Mac or Windows?
I've just tried this on the latest version and it seems fine.
