Thanks Bob - however I don't think I've described the problem well enough. The pulse train has already been defined and manipulated elsewhere. It was defined as follows: DS Failure Pulses= (IF THEN ELSE( DS CUMULATIVE=0 , 0 , IF THEN ELSE(MODULO(DS CUMULATIVE,(DS MTBF*"A/C 'stoppage' factor&quo...

Thanks Bob - what I mean is that if you multiply a pulse train, it simply magnifies the amplitude. i.e, say you had a pulse train of height 1 that lasts for 2 hours - if you multiply this by 2 (i.e the multiplier constant was 2), you get a height of 2 that lasts for two hours. What I actually need i...

Pulse train

Good morning all! I have another simple question for you experts. I have a series of irregular pulses (of time step 1). What I want is to convert the pulses of time step 1 into pulses of time step 3. Obviously, simply multiplying by 3 will multiply the magnitude by 3, which is not what I want. I hav...

Totalling values over a day - for one year

Good afternnon. I have a question that is probably quite easy for you experts to answer! I have a series of pulses over the course of a year (the Time Step is one hour). If we zoom in to 1st April, for instance, the pattern could be a pulse (of one) between 9:00-12:00, 14:00-17:00, 20:00-22:00 and n...

Comparing the value of a previous time step.

Hello. I have a variable that outputs a series of irregular pulses - for example: 01010011011100 - the time step is 1 hour. However, I don't want 2 consecutive 1's - so I want the above series to read: 01010010010000 What I was thinking was, is there any way of comparing the previous time step value...

Periodic Random Numbers

Hello all. I have a question that might very well be simple to answer (I'm fairly new to Vensim, so am learning as I go along). From what I understand of the Random functions, they give a random number every time interval (in my model this is set to 1 hour). However, what I want is to have a pulse o...

Repeating a pattern of pulses.

Hello again.

I've created a pattern (of the utilisation of various training devices) using a series of pulses. What is the best way to repeat this pattern (over 52 weeks)? I want to avoid having to manually input all of the pulses.

Thanks

Thanks Bob.

All I really want to do is to combine five variables onto one graph. I therefore thought that if I created a subscript called 'lines', I could make the five variables, elements of the graph - i.e, the equation would read:

graph[lines]=var1,var2,var3,var4,var5

Thanks.

Subscript and Variables

Hi there. I'm new to Vensim so I'm wondering if somebody could assist me wrt Subscripts. I've defined a subscript and placed a Box Variable in which I want to define the elements of the subscript as other Variables- i.e., I want the elements of the subscript to be variables - is this possible? I've ...
