Re: VENAPP: Varformat error 0

Can you zip it and email it to me and I'll take a look?

There is little I can recommend unless I can see what you have.

Re: Delayed System time

" set print to 0"?
If you right click on the table tool, there is a setting for "print every". Set this to be zero.

Re: external function, using vgv->lastpos

You cannot get that information at the moment (unless you pass in a vector).

Re: VENAPP: ADDDATA

I didn't want to bother the user with too many dialogs before loading his/her file, that's why I used the "!" as vdffile. I thought that Venapp could remember the name of the converted tab/vdf file to load it directly. Is it possible? No, it is not possible. I think you are going to have ...

Re: VENAPP: ADDDATA

I think it may be the SIMULATE>ADDDATA|! that is causing the problems. The "!" usually means the last runname, so will not work here as there is no runname.

Could you use GET DIRECT DATA instead? This will read the TAB file instead of importing it to a VDF.

Re: VENAPP: "search view for"

Am I right in saying you want to select a variable, and then move to the sketch containing that variable?

If yes, then you cannot do this yet.

Re: Simple Question

You are not draining anything from the level.

Try using

Code: Select all

Level = integ ( rate in - drain out, INITIAL VALUE)

Re: VENAPP- GRAPH, URGENT!!!!

It's usually quicker to have a quick search in the help system as the info is there (and we do not always get to the forum immediately).

Re: floating point overflow error

"in-renovation Old Buildings Rob" is going negative at t=2, this is having a knock on effect causing data overflow.

Hope this helps.

That licence is Pro, not DSS (so you cannot develop using the Vensim DLL or run command scripts).

Re: Simple Question

Thanks Tony. I have little confusion about STEP function. If I want to use step function for different time slot such as 15, 45, 75, 90 etc. Shall I sue some like STEP(50,15)+STEP(50,45) +STEP(50,75)+STEP(50,90)? Or is there any other smarter option to do so? Try it and see if it gives you the resu...

Re: Question regarding using Vensim on Mac

One thing to note. I've found a bug in the import process. Make sure that any info you have in the dat file actually exists in the model or Vensim gets into an infinite loop when importing the data.

This will be fixed in the next Vensim release.

Re: Question regarding using Vensim on Mac

Vensim does not import text files (and as you've found out, the file open dialog on the Mac will not let you change what files it can see).

You need to rename the file so that it is a .DAT one and not .TXT.

To completely drain a level, use "drain rate = level / time step".

All I can suggest is using the loops tool and then copying the output to Excel and try and match those which include the parameters you are interested in.

Re: Tracking Outputs

It would have taken much longer to modify your model, so I've built a quick demo which uses ALLOCATE BY PRIORITY to do what's needed. The model has two sample sources. Then I allocate the capacity of the processing machine with priority based on the age of the samples in the queue (all samples must ...
