Re: Vensim PLE - Simultaneous Eqn Error

It would help if you could post the model (or a sample of it) so we could comment on it.

Re: publishing model via code

You can only publish a model for use with the Vensim DLL if you have Vensim DSS. The Vensim DLL is only licenced for use with Vensim DSS (the DLL only comes with DSS). So if you only have PLE, there is no way you can publish a model for use with the DLL as you are not licensed to do so. These are li...

Is there a way to further allocate the flows based on priority between these 3 flows?
Yes, just replicate the structure I have put in. Or allocate based on a proportional demand basis.

There is a version 6.0A-1 on the Vensim website, this is there to fix this problem.

Can you try it?

No. This is by design, you would not need Vensim if you could publish a model via some other means.

I want to share different percentage to different variable from one variable through pipe. will it be appropriate to use two valve or just take a link from same arrow?
It's up to you. Give it a try and see if you get the results that you need from the model.

Can you try and explain this again, I don't understand your question.

One other thing to remember. Your profile indicates that you are a PLE user, subscripts are not possible with PLE.

Re: Slow Response Using SubScript Grid Command

A screenshot doesn't help at all. I need to be able to re-create the problem to have any chance of giving some advice.

The screen itself does not contain any data, if you can just email that to me I can have a go.

The only thing you can do here is move the constant values into a CIN file (which is good practice anyway) and then just add the new constant values.

Re: What improvements would you like to see in Vensim?

At my company we continously re-use a standard model, and we would like to reduce the effort required to do this, to set up a new instance of the model. For that, being able to add new elements to a family of subscripts at the touch of a button would be great - especially if that could also be done...

Re: From steady-state to dynamic model

When you run a model, it generates a VDF file. This VDF file can be used in other simulations.

Re: From steady-state to dynamic model

I cannot really comment at all on the model. For example "tconst" means nothing to me. I'm certainly no expert in the chemicals industry.

It's far better to ask specific questions if you are having problems rather than asking for general comments.

Re: add a delay between inflow and outflow

You've actually already got a delay in there (fraction of buyer is measured in percent per week to buy). You might take a look at http://models.metasd.com/delay-sandbox/ It might also be better if you give a brief description of what you are trying to model. Looking at what you have, I'd start with ...

1. Have a look at the model "AGECHAIN.MDL". If you are running Windows 7, it should be in C:\Users\Public\Vensim\help\models\Sample\EXTRA\ or http://www.vensim.com/documentation/Models/Sample/EXTRA/AGECHAIN.MDL This will be a good model to start with. Change the variable names so that they ar...

Re: Time look up and variable look up

What format is your data in? Is it in Excel, text files or something else? Subscripts: These allow you to replicate model structure quickly. For example, if you have a model that looks at bank balance, you could add subscripts to this so that it modelled many bank balances. The following section in ...

Re: Why is a boxed variable always assumed to be a level?

What I am missing in the bottom menu is a tool to change to inner color of a box (e.g. its background/filling) since I do like to work with different colors in my model. Could you put that up on the wishlist or prove me blind for not seeing the tool in case there is on
I'll put it on the wishlist.
