I've got no doubt that you can use both Vensim and Ventity to help. What you are describing sounds like a major project, it's not something that any of us could give you a few pointers to get you going.

Do you really need to export the whole file? You can use a savelist to export just the data you need.

In theory there is no maximum file size. It's going to take a lot of time though to export something that size.

You should definitely move to Windows 10.

I don't think Windows 8 is supported any more so it's unlikely Vensim will run on it.

Have you been through any of the Vensim tutorials? I would start with the PLE tutorial at the following page,

This will get you to the point where you can build a basic model. Once you've done this, I'd start again.

No, you cannot do this via the DLL. The DLL will only open published models, so there is no way to get the MDL file into the DLL in order to publish it. You need to run these commands in Vensim via a command script.

You'll need to upload your model for us to be able to help.

This setting is also under the "Excel" settings window, so I'll remove it from the "General" section in the next Vensim release.

If you've used Vensim before, try deleting or renaming the .venple file in your home folder (it's hidden).

This will mean Vensim starts with default settings, maybe you had the old GUI running before?
