Creating a new project

I have downloaded a 30-day trial version of Sable for evaluation. I am trying to create a project however in the "New
file" dialogue window Sable asks me to stipulate a Vensim model. It then
recognises only files with the extention *.vmf whereas all my models have
the extention *.mdl. If I change the extention of my model Sable can see the
file but still cannot open it. Can you please advise how to make it work.

Sable only works with binary Vensim files. Open your model in Vensim and click
"File->Save as"
There is a box where you can select the file type, select Binary and your model will be saved as a .vmf file.

You should be able to open this in Sable now.
