Vensim reports undefined units without reason

Hi everybody,

I am currently building a new model using Vensim DSS 32 5.1a.
Since last night Vensim has frequently opened models only in the text mode, not as sketch as usual. After changing the view to "as sketch" and conducting a units check Vensim surprisingly reported many "not defined"-errors for units I had definitely defined beforehand. In the equation editor the unit's definition was still displayed. After confirming it the error was not reported anymore -- until the story started all over this afternoon. Any suggestions how to approach that issue?

If you have been working in sketch mode and Vensim opens a model in text mode it is because Vensim has encountered what it thinks is a syntax error. Normally if you then hit Ctrl+T Vensim will take you to the error and tell you what it is. It may then be obvious what the problem is.

One possibility is that you have inadvertantly put a ~ or | in the comment for a variable, but this would not explain why large numbers of units are missing. In Version 5.2 extraneous ~ and |s are stripped from comments.
