PLE Installation Error

I am trying to install Vensim PLE, but I am encountering an error message during the account the account key registration phase. I have tried all installation purposes with the exception of Install a Licensed version as I do not have a license yet. The error message that I am receiving is Error during installation: Do not change the installation filename. I am running Windows 7 and I have tried installing as administrator. Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any software installed that renames the downloaded file? For example, anti-virus software that quarantines an exe (or runs it in a sandbox)?

This is most likely the issue. I am working from a company laptop that white lists apps that have admin access and requires confirmation for those that don't. This application may be renaming after granting permission. Assuming that cannot disable this software, are there any other options for installation?

Unfortunately not, it's part of the security built into our installations (an attempt to stop others distributing our software without our permission).

I may be wrong on this as well, renaming the file might also break the digital signature. This guarantees that the installation is unmodified and is published by us.

I have confirmed with my IT support that the file is not being quarantined or moved during the installation process due to any security features. Is there a specific process that I should follow to install? I am downloading the file from the email that I receive during registration. From there, I run the .exe directly as administrator and I receive this error.

What is the file name of the download?

I've just tried downloading PLE and had no problems at all.

This is the file name. VensimPLEx32Setup.exe. I am running it directly from the folder that is downloaded to.

If you run the installer, then hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and display the process manager, right click on the installer and select "go to process". Is the process titled VensimPLEx32Setup.exe?
