One of my students, using the Mac download, is unable to instal vensim PLE using the academic/educational version. When she tries to install the program she chooses the academic version and enters her name. Once she clicks to confirm these choices the installer automatically switches back to the evaluation version.
Can you please advise me on why the installer might be doing this so that I can get her the academic version for use during my class. No other student in my class had this error.

Haven't heard of this before.
Try the usual things.
1. Restart the computer. It seems Mac users rarely restart, this often fixes a lot of things.
2. Run a virus scan.
3. Download Vensim again and try the new download.
4. On the hard drive, do a "check permissions" (I think on later Macs this has changed to "First aid"). Search Google for how to do this.
