Problem when copying a Vensim diagram

Post by londonmike »

Hello - can anyone help me with this? I have several diagrams that I need to copy from Vensim to Word, for a paper that is soon to be published. The problem I have is that when I select each diagram, and then do the standard ctrl-C and ctrl-V to copy and paste it, I get a much larger area. The diagram itself only occupies the top left corner of the pasted diagram, and the rest is just white space.

Thanks, Mike

This is an annoyance that came up recently with screens operating at high pixel pitches.

Two options:
- You can use the crop tool (in the Word/Ppt picture format ribbon) to eliminate the white space, then scale up the image.
- Use the latest 8.1 version, and switch to the new sketch format (Tools menu)
A better solution is in the works.

If you are on Windows, there is a tool that my son introduced me to this week called the sniping tool. The sniping tool captures regions of a screen.

Right - if you type "snip" in the search bar the snipping tool app comes up. <Windows>+<Shift>+S is a shortcut.

I also like "Jing," a free tool from TechSmith (publisher of Camtasia).
