BADUG Meeting 7July

Post by Karen Takle Quinn »

Alert For the system dynamic folks in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Joan Yates, System Dynamics Project Manager, Catalina Foothills School
District is the guest speaker at the 7 July, Bay Area Deming Users Group
meeting from 3p.m. to 6p.m. at Acuson Corporations Building 1, located at
1393 Shorebird Way in Mountain View, CA. Joan is recognized both
Nationally and Internationally for her work in implementing the concepts
of systems thinking and system dynamics within individual classrooms,
schools and entire districts. She has just returned from Singapore as a
guest of the Ministry of Education. She is currently in Portland, Oregon
working with the administrators and teachers in their public school
system. A ninety minute audio tape (audio #T9849) is available from
Pegasus Communications (1-800-272-0945 or
www.pegasuscom.com). This tape
is a recording of Joan, some of her students and their mentors at the last
Systems Thinking Conference. It discusses some of the tools this group
used to enhance their mental models and develop the skills required to
make decisions and take effective action. If you have any questions on
this special BADUG session please contact Karen Takle Quinn (650-964-5195)
or Mr. Pat McMahon (650-694-5514).
We want to encourage Bay Area educators to attend and to bring their key
program and budget decision makers. This is a session you cant afford to
miss if you are sincerely interested in the education of our children.
Ask you school principal or/and local school board members to come with
you to this meeting. We like if you are coming. But most important, is
to come and bring an educator to learn what can be done in schools to help
children and adults to make good decisions and take effective action using
the tools of system dynamics.
