System Dynamics Intern Position

CSX Transportation Operations Research group is looking for a
self-motivated student with good knowledge of simulation technique
of System Dynamics, related design and analysis skills and firm understanding
of regression and time series. Responsibilities will include update of the currently
working System Dynamics models of Railroad Operations, scenario design, forecasting
and analysis of the results. Update will require extensive work with large amount of
data from different departments, therefore strong analytical skills, as well as good
programming skills are big plus. A student will work with a supervisor on preparing
presentations of the analysis to the senior management.
Qualifications:
* Background in Simulation design and analysis
* Applied regression and time series knowledge
* System Dynamics technique background
* Programming skills and Software experience: MS Office (Word, PowerPoint,
Excel, Access)
* Project Management and Quality Assurance skills
* Communication and Software/Product Documentation skills
Programming skills in more than one language is a plus. Experience is required
to include exposure to Windows 95/98, NT 4.0. CSX does offer additional training
and exposure to all of the above areas, providing an opportunity for interns to
build on their foundation of programming skills and experience.
