Andy Ford and I are co-editing a special issue of the
SYSTEM DYNAMICS REVIEW on environmental and
resource modeling. this notice appeared in the recent
issue of System Dynamics Review, and we would like to
remind you to send your proposals for papers to Andy
and myself (preferably by the end of October!).

CALL FOR PAPERS

Special Issue of the System Dynamics Review on the

Modelling of Environmental and Resource Issues

The System Dynamics Review intends to publish a special issue
focusing on environmental and resource issues. The issue will
be edited by Robert Cavana and Andrew Ford and is tentatively
scheduled for volume 20:2 (2004). Manuscripts may have a
quantitative or qualitative orientation and will reflect the general
aims of the System Dynamics Review. Papers based on
methodological issues as well as case studies are welcome. A list
of relevant topics includes:
·Policy making and management of environmental and
resource based systems;
·Dynamics of natural and renewable resources;
·Short and long term consequences of resource depletion
policies;
·Sustainability issues related to environmental and
resource management;
·Impact on human communities of environmental and
resource policies;
·Interactive learning environments; and the
·Effects of interventions in environmental and resource
systems.

Manuscripts will follow the journal’s Guidelines for “main
articles.” We call for two page proposals by October 10, 2002,
and we will respond with the invitation to proceed by December
10, 2002. Papers are due March 10, 2003. They are subject
to the normal refereeing procedures of the journal, with co-
ordination by the editors. Please submit your proposals to
