Using Systems Thinking to Teach Basic Math

Alex

Try looking at
http://www.clexchange.org.

This is the site of a group of teachers and lecturers in the US and Canada
who a) adopt Systems Thinking in all of their work with students, and b)
move on to causal loops and simulation models.

Their site is stuffed full of worked examples and lesson notes.

Simply terrific!!

Using Systems Thinking to Teach Basic Math

Post by Alex leus »

I have volunteered to tutor high school students in Algebra I & II and
Geometry. I would very much like the students to start using a system
thinking approach as soon as possible. Are there any materials out
there that I can utilize to accomplish this task. Do you have any
suggestions of where to start etc.?

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,
Alex Leus

The Creative Learning Exchange was founded to encourage the use of system
dynamics in K-12 education. We have some curricula on the web (
http://clexchange.org) for High school level math. Diana Fisher has
published a book with HPS on utilizing SD in math, available from the High
Performance website. (www.hps-inc.com)

You are welcome to call me or e-mail me with any questions.
