We are hiring a full-time Research Scientist / Postdoctoral Research Associate with experience in system dynamics modeling to join the CUNY Center for Systems and Community Design (CSCD). Below is a summary of the position, and more details are available at: Could you please share with your networks?

Position Description: The Research Scientist/ Postdoctoral Research Associate will serve as a systems modeler for the CUNY SPH team. The role of the systems modeler will be to support participatory group model building and computational system dynamics modeling in a variety of public health projects, including those that focus on the opioid epidemic, COVID-19, obesity, and mental health, among others. The systems modeler will report directly to Dr. Terry Huang, Director and Professor of CSCD and Dr. Nasim Sabounchi, Research Associate Professor of CSCD and will also serve as a key liaison between the CUNY SPH team and research investigators at partner institutions.


Minimum of a Master’s degree (Doctoral degree preferred)
2 years of training and experience in behavioral research settings with training/expertise in system dynamics modeling, group model building, systems science, public health and/or related field
Proficiency with data management and analysis using standard statistical software
Proficiency with system dynamics modeling software such as Vensim or Stella
