trivial issue ; Vensim 5.9e treats "u_s" as "

Post by mike »

Is there a way to get a Vensim Version 5.9e model to get variable names that have the underscore character in them ?
That is, I would like to have a variable named "u_s" but it comes out as "u s".

If I cannot do this, it is not the end of the World but if this is one's preference can it be done ?

Guidance appreciated.

PS I did a search on this site and Vensim Manuals for 'underscore character' ; maybe I am naming it incorrectly ?

Answered my own question; it is called 'underbar'
and is apparently shown as a space by default but can be set to appear via Model Settings Dialogue.

There is an option to display spaces as underbars Tools>Options>Settings and also an option to use hard underbars Models>Settings>Sketch. The latter will for U_S to show up on sketches and be different from "U S" even when the first is not selected. In equations it actually shows up as "U\_S"
