REMINDER Call for Submissions, Global Integration Of Graduat

Post by "Mohamed Loutfi" »

CALL FOR PAPERS AND PARTICIPATION AT THE GLOBAL INTEGRATION OF GRADUATE
PROGRAMMES 2003 CONFERENCE

Dear Colleagues,

We are honoured to invite you to submit and present your paper(s) at GIGP
2003, which will take place in Kyiv ( Kiev ) Ukraine on Tuesday 9th
September to Saturday 13th September 2003.

The conference is considered one of the worlds major conferences in the
area of integration of graduate programmes and hopes to attract
representatives from all universities who are interested in international
cooperation

The conference has three aims;

Firstly to discuss, within the context of Eastern and Central Europe, the
future function and role of universities in the west as they adapt from
being ivory towers to focusing on local and regional development, reaching
out into the local community and forging links with local businesses,
industry and commerce.

The second aim is to examine how the Masters degree is taught throughout
the world, to define its role and to inspire new ideas that will increase
its effectiveness.

The third aim is to provide an opportunity for Western Universities to
re-examine what they are offering and the Eastern Universities (especially
the former Soviet Block) to discuss which aspects would be useful to their
education systems and societies.

More information about the conference and calls for papers can be found on
the website
www.gigp2003.org

website or contact either myself Loutfi@sunderland.ac.uk or the General
