SD model of the SD modeling process

A colleague and I are struggling with the issue of acceptance of the use of
system dynamics models in a large company. From our local perspective,
success has been limited. I am aware of much that has been written on the
topic, including the recent discussions here on the list.
My question - has anyone attempted to integrate this information into a
system dynamics model of the modeling process - basically, a flight
simulator for system dynamics modelers?
>From a beginners perspective, the actual writing of a model is pretty
straightforward, but its the much fuzzier stuff that concerns me - the
art, as opposed to the science. Learning from experience takes a long
time. My thought was that such a simulator may help me understand some of
the key leverage points in gaining acceptance of a model. It also might
serve as a template model which could be tailored to understand the
issues in any specific system dynamics application.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
