Im looking for theory and trends in using 3-D geometric modeling as a
direct mapping of the SD model to the extent that the color, size,
shading, shape, and motion of 3-D objects represent variables in the
model. In this way a more intuitive grasp of the model can be
obtained by those not accustomed to charts and graphs. The
possibilities are limitless:

Global variables like currently dominant loops could map to ambiant
light intensity and color (red for balancing; green for reinforcing)

I picture a box departing one stock and arriving at another having
been transformed in color, size, shading, shape, etc. along the way
depending on variables that contributed to the SD flow.

There are hundreds of attributes variable settings that need to be set
to describe geometric objects. Each attribute is uniquely
identifiable it seem to me that a maping of SD model parameters maped
to 3-D geometric models is a natural fit.

So, Im looking for something much more. Maybe somebody has had
similar ideas and done something with AVS or VTK or something else.
